iPhone X humbled the phones Android in European sales, company phone Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), registering performances as good as the global ones, and this despite the fact that American sales have decreased on the European continent. iPhone X is presented by Canalys as the smartphone with the best sales on the European continent, the difference compared to Android phones being a comfortable one, according to the analysts.

iPhone X recorded very good sales in the conditions where the entire market decreased by 6.3% in sales compared to Q1 2017, and in the case of Western Europe we are talking about a 13.9% decrease in smartphone sales. Basically, iPhone X was very sought after by Europeans despite the fact that phone sales are lower than those recorded in the first three months of the previous year, a sign that people were very interested in the Apple product.

iPhone X represented 25% of the 10 million iPhones sold in Europe by the Apple company, so we are talking about 2.5 million units sold in the first three months, about a tenth of what Apple sold globally, in Q4 2017 Compared to the global iPhone X sales in Q1 2018, those in Europe represent about 18%, so a very small proportion, and this tells us that the majority of sales were recorded on the Asian and American continents.

"Smartphone fatigue hit Europe in Q1 2018, as shipments fell 6.3% year on year, the biggest ever drop in a single quarter. Western Europe bore the brunt, down 13.9% with 30.1 million units shipped […] Apple outperformed the market and shipped over 10 million units, but this still represented a 5.4% decline. As a percentage of models shipped, the iPhone X declined slightly from Q4, to around 25%, but it remained comfortably the best-shipping smartphone in the region."

iPhone X did not help Samsung overtake Samsung in smartphone sales in Europe, the Koreans registering 15 million units sold, 15% less than in the same period last year. Not even the Samsung Galaxy S9 managed to help Samsung maintain its sales at the same level as last year, when the Samsung Galaxy S8 had not yet been released, so people are starting to avoid Samsung phones in Europe as well, maybe more than the iPhone X.
