Google Chrome is currently testing a new secret feature for users around the world, and if you're interested in testing it right now, well, it's possible in just a few steps. Now Google test this new functionality in the Canary version of the Google Chrome browser, that is, the beta version that is only recommended for web developers, but that anyone can install on computers and phones.
Google Chrome is testing a very interesting new feature that allows the viewing of picture-in-picture video clips for various websites, as you can see in the image below. Basically, Google Chrome will allow us to see the video clips in small windows over other web pages without being stuck in a single page to follow the information we are interested in, as is currently the case with any web browser.
Google Chrome: now ACTIVATE a New SECRET Function
Google Chrome currently has this function implemented for testing with the platform only YouTube, which is owned by Google, but support could also be extended to other websites. Those at Google took this idea from mobile phones, where the picture-in-picture system has existed for some time and simplifies viewing video clips in applications while viewing other content, without being stuck in a single menu.
- "chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features — Enables experimental Web Platform features that are in development.
- chrome://flags/#enable-surfaces-for-videos .. Enable compositing onto a Surface instead of a VideoLayer for videos.
- chrome://flags/#enable-picture-in-picture — Enable the Picture-in-Picture feature for videos”
Google Chrome can have this new function activated by simply following the three steps above, but only if you have the Canary version of the browser installed, the public one not having this functionality in testing now. Considering that Google is testing this function in beta version and it can be used by any developer, I imagine that the final version of Google Chrome will be publicly available in not so long.
