Previous rumors have suggested that Apple wants to completely switch to OLED screens for the iPhone starting in 2019, and this is because it could buy such screens from other companies besides those from Samsung.
Apple ONLY wants OLED for iPhones
Apple's confidence that its Asian partners could provide it with the latest generation OLED screens in larger quantities is so great that it has started planning this major change for iPhones in 2019. If Apple will release a new version in 2019 an iPhone SE, or another phone in this category, then this model will definitely have an LCD screen so that its selling price is low enough.
