Phones compatible with 5G networks have the launch confirmed today thanks to a very important announcement made by one of the largest manufacturers of GSM chips for mobile terminals, Qualcomm. The American company announced today a new mmWave 5G antenna called QTM052, which will facilitate the connection of phones to next-generation networks to allow wireless gigabit speeds, but only from 2019-2020.
5G phones will have this integrated antenna in a future chip, probably the Snapdragon 855, which Qualcomm will launch next year, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 could be the first smartphone with the integrated technology. Qualcomm has announced that the first 5G phones will be launched in the first part of next year, so it is very possible that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first, but Huawei will certainly not want to be too long behind.

For the future 5G phones, Qualcomm created this QTM052 antenna, which consists of 4 antennas that can find the fastest 5G tower, and can also work with mmWave technology, which also offers the highest speeds. The interesting part is that this Qualcomm antenna can even pick up ricochet signals from various surfaces, the antennas being so small that they can even be attached to the edges of future smartphone screens.
Qualcomm will integrate the antennas into a modem chip called X50, which will facilitate the evolution of mobile phones towards next-generation 5G networks, something that many people have been waiting for for some time.
