Apple Pay is available for use on a variety of Apple products, and if in the US there are about 38 million users of the mobile payment platform, globally the number is much higher. Apple Pay is currently available in 24 countries around the world, and Germany is to be included soon, so the number of international users will increase considerably. The figure could approach 270 million users after the inclusion of Germany, where there are a lot of people who can't wait to use the Apple platform.

"With the addition of new countries, it makes sense that international has been the key driver to the Apple Pay story. There are currently 24 countries where Apple Pay is accepted, soon to be 25 with the addition of Germany later this year. We now estimate the total Apple Pay user base at about 253 million (International at 215m, US at 38m). This means the percentage of Apple Pay users in the US has decreased to 15% and internationally has increased to 85%."

Apple Pay's growth could still slow down due to iOS 12, and this is because Apple will allow the use of NFC from the iPhone for mobile payments, and banks are preparing dedicated applications for this. Even so, Apple Pay has an impressive number of active users globally.
