WhatsApp: WARNING for Application Users

WhatsApp is in the middle of a very important warning for users who use the application on mobile phones at the moment.

WhatsApp WARNING Users

WhatsApp was at the center of a very important announcement the other day, the American platform benefiting from an agreement between the companies Google and Facebook, through which Android users of the platform will benefit from free data backup in Google Drive. Just like the WhatsApp users who were backing up their data on the Facebook platform were consuming the space they had for their account, but that is changing, and the space will no longer be consumed.

WhatsApp will allow people to save their data constantly and without problems, but those who do not do it constantly, and have not done it for a while, risk losing all their data if they change their phone, or if they have to reinstall the operating system. Those from Google have announced that any backups older than 1 year will be deleted from Google Drive starting in November, so WhatsApp users who have not saved their data for a long time could be left without those from telephones.

WhatsApp: WARNING for Application Users

WhatsApp has the option in the application to schedule even daily backups for phone data, but if it has been deactivated, it should be reactivated by November in order not to risk losing the information available in the phones. Those from Google and Facebook agreed that the period of time between the announcement of the free space offer and the deletion of the old backups of WhatsApp should be long enough for everyone to be able to keep their data.

"Starting November 12, 2018, WhatsApp backups will no longer count towards the Google Drive storage quota. Furthermore, WhatsApp backups that haven't been updated in more than one year will be automatically removed from Google Drive storage. To avoid the loss of any backups, we recommend you manually back up your WhatsApp data before November 12, 2018."

WhatsApp has an option in the settings menu that allows you to activate the automatic backup system for data, and I recommend that you activate it on your Android phones, in order not to risk losing information. Unfortunately, in the case of the iPhone, there is no agreement between Facebook and Apple so that WhatsApp backups do not consume space from iCloud accounts, so we cannot enjoy such a thing.
