WhatsApp: BEWARE of the PROBLEM HIDDEN by Facebook

WhatsApp has a very big problem, which the Facebook company has hidden until now, but which you must know about, because it affects you directly.

WhatsApp THE HIDDEN PROBLEM Facebook

WhatsApp it has a very big problem that it has hidden until now from users all over the world, and this even though a few weeks ago the company announced together with Facebook and Google a very important change. More precisely, any backup of WhatsApp will not consume Google Drive space, thanks to an agreement made between Facebook and Google, but unfortunately behind this change there is also a very big problem, hidden by the company until now.

WhatsApp confirmed yesterday that any backup made by users through the Google Drive platform will not have encrypted messages, as is the case with those that are available on the company's servers. Those from WhatsApp do not offer explanations for the reasons why the encryption of the messages from the backups saved in Google Drive cannot be kept, but users must know that those data can be accessed at any time by anyone who has access to the backup.

WhatsApp also claims that the pictures are in the same situation, the American company not being able to protect the content of the backups as long as they are saved in Google Drive, so the users' data is at risk. We will probably find out why WhatsApp cannot create backups that are protected in Google Drive, but I have a vague impression that everything is part of the agreement that Facebook and Google made to store the information there for free.

"Media files and messages you save on Google Drive are not protected by WhatsApp's full encryption process."

Whatsapp also allows the use of other services to save backups, and if you do not have important information in the messaging application, then you can use Google Drive without any problems, which is a very good service, encrypted from the outside. WhatsApp allows the free use of Google Drive to store backups for free from now on, and from November the ones older than 1 year will be deleted automatically if no further updates are made.
