Google HARD CRITICISM for a GOOD Deed

Google is harshly criticized for a good deed done recently, helping a lot of users who were affected by its problem.

Google SEVERE CRITICISM GOOD deed

Google is harshly criticized for a good deed it did, and because it protects its users, the American company entering into an open dispute with those from Epic Games because of the game Fortnite. As some of you know very well, those from Epic Games have decided to release the game Fornite for Android outside of Google Play, and this means that Google does not receive a percentage of the revenues of the company Epic Games, but also that the users are in danger.

Google discovered that the application distributed by those from Epic Games through its own website contains a vulnerability that put Android phones at risk, it being solved in the meantime. Google discovered that hackers could introduce malware into the Android launcher for the Fornite game, and of course they alerted the company Epic Games, but of course they generated the anger of the game's developers, those from Mountain View being considered "irresponsible" for disclosing the problem.

Google HARD CRITICISM for a GOOD Deed

Google notified Epic Games about this problem, and the developers asked for 90 days to solve it, but Mountain View made it public immediately because hackers would have exploited it in the meantime. Epic Games was forced to solve the problem, and the day after the report they released a version of the Fornite launcher that had a patch applied to prevent exploitation, but Google was accused of not offering enough time to solve the vulnerability.

"tI was irresponsible of Google to publicly disclose the technical details of the flaw so quickly, while many installations had not yet been updated and were still vulnerable. Google's security analysis efforts are appreciated and benefit the Android platform, however a company as powerful as Google should practice more responsible disclosure timing than this, and not endanger users in the course of its counter-PR efforts against Epic's distribution of Fortnite outside of Google Play .”

Google reacted very well, because Epic Games seems to have needed only one day to solve the problem, and although the company is angry, in the end the users are the ones who stand to gain from the dispute. Epic Games claims that Google disclosed the problem out of frustration because Fortnite is not distributed through Google Play, but that is irrelevant, because the launcher had a problem that needed to be solved urgently, and that happened, and that's good.
