Palm is a name that many people know thanks to the famous phones and electronic organizers that the American company launched over time, before Apple changed the smartphone world. Palm laughed at Apple when it launched the first iPhone, only to disappear on the market a few years later after its products became irrelevant compared to the products of those from Cupertino and others running the Android operating system.
Palm returns in 2018 with the brand, the company itself not having anything to do with this product, it being launched by a start-up from San Francisco, which thought of revitalizing the brand by using it for a new phone. We are not talking about a smartphone, but about a normal phone, which runs Android, but whose purpose is to be complementary to a smartphone, and to be used when we want to get rid of the phones we use daily.

Palm has very small dimensions, as well as very limited functionality, but the expectations must be just as small from this phone, because it does not come to revolutionize any market, but only to cover a need. The need of those who sometimes want to get rid of smartphone addiction, and want to leave home with a device that can make phone calls, receive/send messages, and that's about it, this being the utility of the new Palm phone.
Palm will cost $350 when it is launched, but at first it will only be available to Verizon customers, the exclusivity still bringing it to an operator with tens of millions of customers in the US. Revitalizing Palm as a brand could be something that the US start-up might have in mind for the future, but for now it all boils down to a small phone, not extremely useful, but which brings a little nostalgia to the minds of many users of smartphones.
