Why the FIRST 10GB RAM Phones are a HUGE STUPID

The first phones with 10 GB RAM are a big deal for the users who will buy them, this is why the manufacturers are deceiving us in 2018 with something we don't need.

phone 10 gb ram

The first phones with 10 GB of RAM were announced this week, Xiaomi Black Shark Helo si Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 being the first smartphones that will offer more RAM memory than the vast majority of people have in their computers. 10 GB of RAM in a phone is just a marketing gimmick of those who no longer know what to offer differently to stand out, i.e. a simple trick for those who still don't know that that amount of RAM memory is useless now.

Phones with 10 GB RAM will be useful in the future, when operating systems will become more complex, applications will require more resources, artificial intelligence will control more of our lives, etc. But at the moment 10 GB of RAM are completely useless in phones, and the only "place" where users will feel that they have so much RAM is in performance measurement applications, because otherwise no one will feel that they have so much memory.

Why the FIRST 10GB RAM Phones are a HUGE STUPID

In 2018, there are no applications that require so many resources that it is necessary to integrate 10 GB of RAM in phones, and no matter how many applications people have open in the background, a maximum of 8 GB is sufficient. Even if photo/video editing applications are used, they are not as complex on phones as computers, and do not consume as much RAM memory, so Xiaomi stands out with absolutely nothing.

Of course, there will be people who will buy phones of this kind to brag about them, and I will be most amused when the iPhone XS wipes the floor with Xiaomi phones, even if they have 10 GB of RAM. Having 10 GB of RAM in a phone does not guarantee you exceptional performance, but only the fact that you can store more information in them, but in 2018 phones don't have much to store, and I don't think that 2019 will change the usefulness of phones with 10 GB RAM.

What do you think about the new Xiaomi phone?
