Orange. The largest mobile phone operator in Romania made a very important announcement today, more precisely the conclusion of a partnership with VISA to offer new services for customers in Romania. Those from Orange launched the Orange Money service some time ago, allowing customers to transfer money anywhere in Romania, and now they announce that they are expanding the services offered through it, by issuing debit cards, a mobile application, and mobile wallets.
Orange. Customers who choose to use the Orange Money service will have the possibility to use physical and virtual debit cards for various online or physical payments, as Telekom has been offering for some time. Apart from that, it seems that a new mobile application will allow the administration of these services, Orange will most likely have an interface where customers will be able to see how much money they spend using these cards, and what balance they have left in their account.

Orange. Mobile payments are to be offered via NFC for phones and smartwatches, so we are talking here about exclusive compatibility with Android, since Apple limits NFC so much that it is completely useless in Romania. Orange becomes the main member of VISA in Romania, and the 120.000 active customers in the service will be able to benefit from all these changes to transfer money, or make payments to other users, or 70 suppliers in Romania.
The partnership with Visa is designed to build a unique experience for Orange Romania customers in terms of mobile financial services, by launching fast, secure and simple payment solutions: an innovative mobile application, physical and virtual debit card, NFC mobile payments via smartphone and smartwatch.
Orange. After Telekom launched a digital bank, it was expected that we would see something similar from the oranges, especially since globally there is a trend of this kind among mobile phone operators. Considering that Orange managed to convince 120.000 customers to use its service in 2 years after its launch, I believe that the addition of new services will lead to a rapid increase in the number of customers using this platform in Romania at the moment .
