Digi Mobil. Orange, Vodafone, Telekom had a surprise at the end of 2018 by announcing the turnover tax by the Romanian Government, and RCS & RDS had the first reaction behind her. The company increased the prices for the services offered under its own brand, but also through Digi Mobil, and now a lot of people are wondering if and by how much Orange, Vodafone, Telekom will increase the subscription prices for the services they offer in Romania.
Digi Mobil. The price increases applied by RCS & RDS for the services offered to customers were small, because the prices of the subscriptions themselves were low, but for Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, the prices could increase more. At Digi Mobil, the price increase is insignificant compared to the subscriptions, which cost very little, but Orange, Vodafone, Telekom have subscriptions that cost tens of euros per month, and there the increases could be substantial.

Digi Mobil. If at this operator we talked about increases of a few lei, at Orange, Telekom, Vodafone the price increases can reach up to several tens of LEI, depending on the subscription we use from the operator. At RCS & RDS, the increases have reached up to 10% for certain subscriptions, not those of Digi Mobil, and at Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, this can mean increases of up to 4, 5, 6 euros for subscriptions with the following benefits bigger.
Digi Mobil. If at RCS & RDS we had a moderate increase, for the rest the increase can be much higher, but this only if they have confidence that the tax will remain in force in 2019, and it can be cancelled. ANCOM declared that the turnover tax imposed against Digi Mobil and the other operators would be contrary to the European legislation in force, so it could be cancelled, and the rest of the operators could not increase the prices, in the end.
Digi Mobil. The price increase already made by the operator will contribute to the increase of larger investments to improve the 4G network, and create the 5G one, but it remains to be seen when we will be able to enjoy them.
