WhatsApp. A great news came today from the president of the Facebook company for messaging platform, and this after yesterday I had a disappointment after I found out the plans of the American company. I told you yesterday that Facebook wants to combine WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger into a single messaging platform, so that people who have separate accounts in each can communicate with others from other platforms.
WhatsApp. The president of the Facebook company claims that this change will make all three platforms much safer, and will create an experience similar to that offered by iMessage for iOS users. None of this is great for us, but the good news is that WhatsApp won't be going through this process anytime soon, as Facebook plans to try a cross-platform merger next year at the earliest, depending on how the development process will proceed.
WhatsApp won't be broken by Facebook anytime soon
WhatsApp. The president of Facebook claims that for now his plan is in the early stages, so it will take some time until the platform is well developed enough to be put on users' throats. Facebook says that unifying the platforms would make messages impossible to intercept, as is the case with iMessage, but theoretically, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram should already have a security system so advanced that communications made by to users among themselves.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that the project — "to whatever term we end up doing this" — would likely not show up until 2020 and beyond. The integration that we're thinking about, we're really early in thinking through this. There's a lot more we need to figure out. I think it's the direction we should be going with more things in the future. He also highlighted the possibility that Messenger — and the combined WhatsApp / Instagram system — could serve as an iMessage-like layer for SMS that would offer more functionality and security.
WhatsApp. Basically, Facebook has now confirmed that its claims regarding the security of conversations are not so true, but who is surprised by the fact that only lies are being spewed from Menlo Park? Having said that, all those who use the WhatsApp platform at the moment still have at least one more year of quiet use of the application, and after that we just have to see to what extent everything will be ruined by Facebook.
