Windows 10. For Microsoft's operating system a major change is about to be offered by Google for users who use the popular Google Chrome browser for surfing the Internet. More precisely, Google Chrome will have integrated in Windows 10 progressive web applications in the taskbar and in notifications, so that users will see more quickly if the respective application has something new for them, and they will be able to open it faster.

The function implemented for Google Chrome is part of a system called Badging API, which allows any progressive web applications installed in Chrome to be displayed in the taskbar, like any other applications in the operating system. Application icons will display notifications in Windows 10 even if Google Chrome has been closed by the user, but the number of actions for which notifications can be displayed through this system is quite limited.

Those from Google say that for Google Chrome notifications of this kind can be displayed including for productivity websites, websites with games, or websites that have chat applications, but not only that. At the moment, Google Chrome 73 has this functionality implemented for users using the Windows 10 operating system, and apparently, it is prepared to be offered including for macOS in the future.

All these changes that Google Chrome has prepared for Windows 10 are part of a project by the Google company to implement for users more of the functions that the operating system offers natively, but which had not yet been implemented.
