Apple wants to bring Face ID to MacBooks as well

Apple is currently working on a plan to bring Face ID to its MacBooks, here are the unexpected ideas the American company has at the moment.

In a surprising move even for the most die-hard Apple fans, this week it was found out that MacBooks with Face ID are currently being tested. Yes, you read that right, Apple is testing the implementation of Face ID in its MacBooks, which have Touch ID now, but not only that, but also touchscreens, something it said it would never offer.

Apple has this project in an early phase of the testing process, so for now it is not known what will happen with them, unless they will be so good that their launch will be worth an investment. Tim Cook said a few years ago that Apple seriously tested MacBooks that have a touchscreen, and decided that they do not offer a good user experience, as the company wants.

Apple is testing MacBooks with Face ID for a possible launch

Even if a few years ago Apple came to the conclusion that launching a MacBook with a touchscreen is not a good idea, things change as technologies and software advance. In this idea, it is possible that now Apple will have better screens and a more friendly macOS with touchscreens, so that it can also offer Face ID.

In addition to the new AirPods 2, Apple is currently testing Macs with Face ID as well as touchscreen displays. However, you shouldn't expect a new Mac with Face ID to launch anytime soon. The current prototypes with Face ID and touchscreen are only meant for internal testing.

As I told you from the beginning, for now this is only a project of the Apple company, without any decision made regarding its transition from the preliminary testing phase to the development one. It is very possible that the project will remain at this stage for several years, and then it will be canceled, or the decision will be made to really invest in its launch.
