WhatsApp. The biggest messaging application on the planet has new very big problems at the moment, and this for Blackberry wants to obtain its ban at least in Europe, all because of several patents. Today took place in Munich, Germany, a first hearing in a process in which 5 patents are used by Blackberry in an attempt to ban WhatsApp, or Instagram, in Europe, or to obtain compensation.
WhatsApp. The patent discussed today is based on the technology through which messages are retransmitted to other people, forwarding, Blackberry claiming that the platform owned by Facebook copied its technologies. Considering that this was a preliminary hearing, the lawyers of the two parties provided few details apart from the request for summons and attendance, but WhatsApp could at least have its services blocked.

WhatsApp. Those from Blackberry have narrowed down their initial requests today because they would have realized that it would be difficult for them to support them effectively in court, so it is possible that they will win the case in the end. Blackberry has many patents related to mobile communication technologies, so it is possible that if it loses in this process, it will open others against WhatsApp and Instagram to enforce its patents and win compensation from the Facebook company.
Today the Seventh Civil Chamber (Presiding Judge: Dr. Matthias Zigann) held a first hearing in a BlackBerry v. WhatsApp & Facebook case that is part of a set of eight Munich patent infringement actions–over five different patents.
WhatsApp. The message forwarding system is a very big problem now for the company and because of the increasing spread of fake news, some governments are threatening to ban the platform if they don't find a solution for it. Adding the problems with WhatsApp, it is very possible that Facebook decides to substantially modify the system in order to quickly get rid of all the problems it has, or even temporarily withdraw it from the application.
WhatsApp. Until now, the messaging application has not had any changes based on any process, and some experts say that Blackberry will not be able to do much with its patents.
