Netflix. Although a few months ago the American company stated that it did not intend to increase the prices of its services in Europe, here we now have proof that this would happen soon. What you see in the images below represent the new prices that Netflix would like to charge for the subscriptions that it sells in Italy for customers, an increase similar to that applied in the US being revealed by the first tests done in the country.
Netflix. The prices of the subscriptions would increase, in a first version, from the value of 11 euros for the standard one, and 14 euros for the Premium one, to 13 euros and 18 euros, respectively, the bigger difference being for the latter. Basically, Netflix will charge a double increase, in value, for the Premium subscription, compared to the Standard one, and this is because it offers its customers access to 4K content through the Premium one, so it must somehow cover its production costs, and not only that.
Netflix is preparing an increase in subscription prices in Europe
Netflix. This is only part of the change, because a second change is also being tested in Italy, which would bring about an increase in prices for all three subscriptions. We are talking about an increase of 1 euro for the basic subscription, one of 2 euros for the Standard one, and one of 3 euros for the Premium one, and with these changes those from Netflix could be more successful than if they increased the prices more to subscriptions and so expensive.
Netflix. Whoever imagines that there will be no price increases in Europe after some have already been applied in the USA, probably lives in a parallel world, because it was logical to see this on our continent as well. Netflix does not change its prices for services very often, but when it does, it does so gradually all over the world, but the decision comes in the context in which Apple is preparing to launch a video streaming service competitor, so he could have to lose in the end.
