WhatsApp. The biggest messaging application on the planet is going to go through a very important change in the not too distant future, those from Facebook announcing that they are ready to make that change that no one really wants. Mark Zuckerberg has published an open letter in which he describes his vision of what his company should offer for WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram, and it's not exactly what you want.
WhatsApp. All these three platforms are going to be combined by Facebook, with the data shared between them, as the company promised it would never do, but this means that their functionality is also going to change. Facebook wants people who use WhatsApp to chat from the application with those who have Facebook Messenger or Instagram, and this is going to generate a lot of confusion among those who do not know how exactly the system works.
WhatsApp. Facebook's plan to DESTROY the Application
WhatsApp. In order for this functionality to be offered, it is necessary for Facebook to take the data from the messaging platform to interconnect them with those from Facebook Messenger and Instagram, and they will also be used to display advertisements. Facebook has not yet found a legal method to take the data of more than 1.5 billion people from WhatsApp, but with this initiative it will finally succeed in getting into their possession without the authorities being able to punish it for what it does.
In a few years, I expect future versions of Messenger and WhatsApp to become the main ways people communicate on the Facebook network. We're focused on making both of these apps faster, simpler, more private and more secure, including with end-to-end encryption. We then plan to add more ways to interact privately with your friends, groups, and businesses. If this evolution is successful, interacting with your friends and family across the Facebook network will become a fundamentally more private experience.
WhatsApp. Mark Zuckerberg's vision will not be implemented overnight, but it will take a long time for everything to be offered to users, so in probably a year everything will be imposed on us. Until then, WhatsApp will have a lot of imposed changes, including a dark mode, and ads in the "Status" section, so we will have a lot of news to get used to.
WhatsApp. At the moment, the messaging platform is the largest in the whole world, with over 1.5 billion users, being close to even surpassing Facebook.
