WhatsApp. The other day we told you that an extremely important decision was made for the biggest messaging platform on the planet, and millions upon millions of users are affected because of it. The company behind WhatsApp has decided to ban, i.e. to prohibit access to the platform, temporarily all users who use third-party applications that modify the functionality of the original one, the desire being to "clean" the network of those who do not want to use the main application.
WhatsApp. The company said that it cannot allow the use of these applications in the future because it cannot verify what kind of security the respective applications offer, as the communications made through them can be intercepted. Of course, it is overlooked that even the main application of WhatsApp does not have encrypted communications as it should, Facebook wanting to do this only in the future, after uniting the platform with Facebook Messenger and Instagram.
WhatsApp. MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AFFECTED by a HARD DECISION
WhatsApp. Similar actions were taken in the past by the company, but not with so much "decision", i.e. bans were not applied so aggressively for ordinary people, but only for those who actually abused the platform. Now those at WhatsApp are determined to ban all users who use third-party applications, which would affect many millions of users, applications of this kind being very popular, especially on the Android platform.
WhatsApp doesn't support these third-party apps because we can't validate their security practices.
WhatsApp. The decision could also be related to the fact that Facebook wants to combine all its messaging platforms into one, but also to the fact that fake news could spread more easily through these applications. It is possible that WhatsApp will not be able to control the phenomenon as long as they are used, so it would rather ban a few million accounts than have the services banned in certain countries, and lose hundreds of millions of users.
WhatsApp. The bans will not be given all at once, but will be imposed gradually by the company, as users who use third-party applications of this kind on their phones are discovered.
