In the face of these accusations, Craig Federighi, one of the vice presidents of the Apple company, made some interesting statements, after the Americans presented the laboratory where they test the security of the products.
Federighi says that he does not agree with the statements of the president of Google, saying that Apple does not make luxury products only for certain people who can afford them. At the same time, he says that Apple does not sell product security as a "luxury good", but that it only tries to provide the best possible experience for customers around the world.
Apple tries to develop the best products for customers, and its efforts are reflected in their final prices, even if they are very high. Apple has also said over the years that the development of products that offer great experiences also requires large investments, and that is why the prices of its products are so high compared to those of competitors.
I don't buy into the luxury good dig. But we certainly seek to both set a great example for the world to show what's possible to raise people's expectations about what they should expect the products, whether they get them from us or from other people. And of course, we love, ultimately, to sell Apple products to everyone we possibly could certainly not just a luxury, we think a great product experience is something everyone should have. So we aspire to develop those.
Despite the statements made by the vice president of Apple, the reality is that the products of the Apple company can be assimilated to the luxury ones, considering the high prices. Of course, the Americans will never admit this, but they don't really want anyone to have access to them either, so they won't be launching cheap products that are accessible to everyone anytime soon.
