More precisely, we are talking about an announcement made by ANCOM, which tries to make both RCS & RDS, as well as the rest of the high-speed internet service providers, more responsible, with an extremely useful web application for customers.

More precisely, ANCOM relaunched the Netograf application this week, which allows the measurement of fixed and mobile internet speeds in Romania, and it comes with an extremely important benefit. More precisely, customers who use Netograf and discover that the speeds provided by RCS & RDS, or the other operators, are lower than those promised in the subscriptions, can request the termination of the contract based on the results obtained through the ANCOM platform.

If those customers discover problems with the download speeds they benefit from, report the problems to the operator repeatedly, and they are not solved, then can request the termination of the contract in their base. Netograf is also available as applications for Windows, for macOS, for iOSor for Android, so you can test the speeds offered by RCS & RDS, or other telecommunications operators, to see if they respect the contracts.
We have completed the capabilities of Netograf with a new web application and applications for fixed terminals for Windows and MAC OS and applications for mobile terminals for Android and IoS. The new applications, in beta version at the moment, offer users the opportunity to measure and evaluate the technical quality parameters for the Internet access service: data transfer speed – download and upload, data packet transfer delay, delay variation of transfer and data packet loss rate.

To be completely honest, it is very interesting what ANCOM promises with its application for computers and phones, but even more interesting will be to see how many people will request the termination of the contracts based on the results. I am also curious how ANCOM will be attacked by RCS & RDS, or other operators, for the results they provide, and if they will eventually be the basis of terminations forced by the authorities.
