STS Accused of being RELUCTANT to Implement an ADVANCED Location System

STS is accused of being reluctant to implement an advanced localization system that can save many more lives of citizens who ask for help.

STS is accused by the European Association of number 112 for refusing to implement in Romania an advanced system for much more accurate localization of calls made by citizens to ask for help from the authorities. We are talking about the system Advanced Mobile Location, which I already told you about a few years ago, when I told you that Apple implemented it in the iPhone, it being used in Europe already, and the people from STS were proposed to implement it.

The European association claims that since 2015 it has been proposing to those from STS to implement this much more accurate system for locating mobile phones, without the need for special applications, such as the call 112, which also has this technology implemented. The technology itself is implemented in phones by the manufacturers and sends the GPS coordinates of the phone to the 112 operators without the mobile operator being involved, the location being as accurate as in the case of the 112 call application.

STS Accused of being RELUCTANT to Implement an ADVANCED Location System

In the summer of 2018, STS initiated a project to modernize the 112 service, which included the implementation of AML in Romania, but of course the entire tender procedure reached the Bucharest Court of Appeal, after appeals. The award contract after the auction has several appeals and a criminal complaint to the DNA because of the way STS awarded it in such a way that years and years will pass until solutions are given, and Romanians will continue to die the same way.

If Romania doesn't have highways because there are all kinds of appeals at auctions and people die in accidents, the same thing is true for 112, only that here STS is not the only one to blame for what happened. Even so, the fact that STS only decided in 2018 to implement AML at the 112 service, and a year later we still don't have it, shows that many changes are still needed in Romania, unfortunately.

AML technology is good for phones with GPS, those without, as it is said to have been the one from which he made the calls the girl kidnapped and killed in Caracal, does not benefit from the system, so it is possible that in this case it was useless.
