Android. RIDICULOUS, SERIOUS PROBLEMS that Continue on Phones

Android has a very big problem, and it's ridiculous that it keeps repeating itself, and the Google company can't solve it, even though it's struggling with it.

Android. RIDICULOUS, SERIOUS PROBLEMS that Continue on Phones

Android it has problems on top of problems and they are getting worse for users, but the most ridiculous part is that they are repeated and based on the same type of exploitation. More precisely, some applications that have registered several million downloads in the Google Play Store contain malware that displays advertisements hidden in phones, they being played in such a large number that they affected the general functionality of the phones.

Android was exploited in such a way that the display of these ads generated internet consumption of which the users knew absolutely nothing, but also an unwanted consumption of resources, which affects the autonomy of the battery. The applications that contained this malware were included in various categories, from utilities to games, and they were available in Google Play for Android for about 1 year before they were discovered.

Google failed to discover the problems that the applications generated for users with Android phones, and that's why they stayed in Google Play for 1 year before being withdrawn from the store. Unfortunately, this is just one of the recent cases of applications in Google Play that had malware of this kind, which affects Android users to a great extent, all without them knowing what is really happening.

“As threat actors generate ghost clicks and ad revenue, affected devices will suffer from drained batteries, slower performance, and potentially increased mobile data usage due to frequent visits to advertising sites. These apps went undetected on the Google Play Store for almost a year, affecting around 1,5 million users before their insidious behavior was discovered. The use of Android wrapper apps and the unusual method of hiding ads adds a layer of complexity for security researchers.”

This tactic of exploiting Android by repeatedly displaying off-screen ads is not new, it has been used by many hackers to make a lot of money, and will continue to be used. Unfortunately, the users are the ones who lose in this whole process, because they are the only ones whose phones are working hard, whose Internet is consumed like crazy, and who are left with no battery autonomy, and they do not know what is happening.

Google should provide protection for Android and phone users around the world, but unfortunately it doesn't, and it won't be able to do it as long as Android remains so free.
