Huawei is harshly attacked by the US ambassador to the EU during a visit to Romania, here is what he said about the Chinese company.

Huawei US Ambassador to the EU HARDLY ATTACKS the Company in Romania

Huawei was the target of an attack launched by the US ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sondland, "encouraging" the Romanian authorities to "get rid" of the Chinese company and its products. The US ambassador's attack came after the press asked him what the EU's advice is regarding the care that Romania should have vis-à-vis the products of the Huawei company in the context in which a series of 5G networks are to be launched in the country Our.

Huawei is still considered by the Americans as a danger to national security, and the US ambassador brought back into discussion the memorandum signed by Klaus Iohannis with Donald Trump. The US wants all its allies to completely abandon Huawei products for communication networks, and to ban their use for the 5G networks that are to be created in each country separately, which Romania could do in the end.

It is interesting that the US ambassador implies that Huawei's equipment would be banned following an analysis that Romania would have done, although publicly the authorities have not declared anything at all. On the other hand, the Huawei company claims that the statements made by the US ambassador to the EU are completely unfounded, and that it does not share information about its customers' communications with the Chinese government.

"Romania just signed a memorandum of understanding with the USA, right before the meeting that President Iohannis had with President Trump. The goal, according to that Memorandum, is for Romania to become, so to speak, "free from Huawei". We want our friends and allies to use whatever kind of equipment they want for 5G, as long as it respects governance standards, which doesn't include sharing information with host governments, doesn't include malicious activity, and a number of other things that , obviously, we oppose it. I think that Romania has very seriously analyzed which 5G technology to use in the future and decided that Chinese technology is not the way to go, and we applaud this position."

Huawei says that the US is trying to interfere in the Romanian business environment, and that all the statements made so far are politically motivated, which is perfectly true. Huawei basically follows the same "plate" as until now, accusing the Americans of lying when they say that they monitor people's conversations, and in the absence of evidence from the US, things will always remain surrounded by mystery.

Huawei could be banned in Romania if President Klaus Iohannis imposes it through CSAT, but for now absolutely nothing has been communicated publicly regarding the problem.
