According to Apple's estimates, the iPhone 12 series would sell approximately 100 million units next year, and all thanks to the implementation of a technology expected by many fans, 5G.
iPhone 12 will be the first series of Apple phones that will have 5G connectivity integrated by the manufacturer, and this in the conditions that more and more phone models are launched with such support at the moment. Considering that the implementation of 5G in the iPhone 12 will be a big technological leap for those at Apple, it is normal that expectations regarding sales are high, especially since we haven't had big changes for phones for years.
Apple expects to sell 100 million iPhone 12 phones in 2020
Apple reportedly told its partners in China to expect orders of more than 100 million units for the iPhone 12 series phones, which would represent a major increase compared to production for the iPhone 11. Of course, it is not mandatory that Apple will sell 100 million phones from the iPhone 12 series, but the expectations of those from Cupertino are unexpectedly high, especially since sales in recent years have not been so great for them.
The iPhone 12 will of course also come with other changes separate from the implementation of support for 5G technology, Apple wanting to make some design changes, separate from other important improvements for customers. It is possible that the estimate of 100 million units of the iPhone 12 sold in 2020 is much higher than expected, but those from Apple could have a new successful product next year, although for now no one knows very clearly if it will happen to stay.
