Orange: The UNEXPECTED announcement regarding the Huawei Company

Orange makes a completely unexpected announcement regarding the Huawei company, here is what the operator says about all the problems of the last year.

Orange huawei

Orange, the second largest mobile telephony group in Europe, makes through the voice of its CEO, Stephane Richard, a surprising announcement that comes to the aid of Huawei, attacked from all sides by the Americans. More precisely, the CEO of the France Telecom group, which owns the Orange brand, says that some of the fears related to Huawei and its products are completely unfounded, especially since there is not much evidence to support the warnings of the Americans.

Orange does not use equipment from Huawei in France, where it has the most important infrastructure, but it uses Chinese equipment in many other markets, including the one in Romania. The CEO of the group that owns Orange says that the idea that a Chinese 5G equipment would have any component that would allow spying on people is far from reality, and that no one would have demonstrated that the Chinese government has access to Huawei equipment.

Orange: The UNEXPECTED announcement regarding the Huawei Company

Orange supports Huawei in a very interesting way, although it does not use their equipment in the "mother country", and the statements come right before the auction for 5G starts in France, the interest being extremely high there. Orange is one of the very big partners of Huawei, and unlike Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone, it has not yet rejected the idea of buying 5G equipment from the Chinese, although they could be banned by the European Commission.

"Some fears surrounding Huawei are unfounded, the executive director of the main telecommunications operator in France, Orange, said on Wednesday. This myth that (says): I have an antenna made in China, so it must have a microphone that allows the Chinese Communist Party to listen to all my conservations is complete nonsense. It has not been established anywhere.”

Orange offers its public support for those from Huawei at a time when things are not going too well for the Chinese company, various European partners already announcing that they could avoid its 5G equipment. If Orange will not do it, then this will be a strong signal for other smaller operators to buy 5G equipment from the Chinese, but a lot also depends on the political decision that the European Commission will take.

Orange could have a ban on the use of Huawei equipment in France and other countries, if strict security regulations are imposed at the local or European level for the companies that deliver such equipment.
