Find My iPhone is the system created by the Apple company to allow its customers to find their lost or even stolen iDevices. A woman from the state of Iowa, USA, still managed to use Find My iPhone to find her stolen car, which doesn't happen that often.
The woman's car was stolen including the iPhone that was in it, so she used another device and Find My iPhone to locate her car. The car was left running by a woman in front of a store, and a thief quickly stole it and ran away with it, and that's why the phone was left in the car.
Considering that the apartment block of the woman had burned down a few months before, the woman had all her belongings in the car when it was stolen, including her phone. The location through Find My iPhone was done by the woman using a friend's iPhone, and although the thieves turned off the phone after the car theft, they restarted it after a few days, and the police ace reached them.
"The technology is excellent. It helps us solve many of these crimes. Thieves will be thieves. So the best thing you can do is not leave your car running unattended and take care of your valuables.”
The police were directed by Find My iPhone to a block of flats in front of which the car was located, and the phone was not recovered, as it was in one of the flats. The police still haven't caught the thieves because they don't know which house the phone is in, but at least they have an idea where to look, and the car was recovered thanks to the system.
