Vodafone: RADICAL decision for Customers taken by the Operator

Vodafone made a radical decision for its customers, here's what the telecommunications group decided to do and how important this change is.

Vodafone decision

Vodafone is one of the largest mobile phone groups in Europe, and in 2019 the company decided that the time had come to reduce some of its expenses and focus more on profit. Those from Vodafone announced that they will do a reorganization, and this included putting up for sale the mobile telephony infrastructure it has in Europe, tens of thousands of telephone towers being put up for sale by the group.

Vodafone has not only put up for sale the mobile phone towers, but also the operations in certain countries, and recently made the decision to sell its operations in Malta to Monaco Telecom. The transaction was certainly a small one for those from Vodafone, who have revenues of tens of billions of dollars annually, but this is a new confirmation of the fact that the group is trying to quickly get rid of everything that does not bring the expected profits.

Vodafone sold its operations in New Zealand at the beginning of the year, collecting 2.1 billion dollars for the company there, a substantial amount that was used for other investments. Vodafone has put its current mobile infrastructure up for sale while investing in 5G and wants to create another infrastructure based on this technology that everyone is interested in at the moment, and which certainly represents the future.

Vodafone has had problems in recent years, including in Romania, both the revenues and the number of customers of the company decreasing, and this despite the fact that serious investments were made in the infrastructure of our country. Those from Vodafone are still trying to reorganize not only their business in our country, but also their business all over the world, recently taking the decision to reduce the size of SIM cards in order to reduce global pollution.

Vodafone is trying to reinvent itself at the moment, and this will require giving up some operations, but it is unlikely that those in Romania will be sold to any other entity.
