Bucharest: HUNDREDS of Rooms Check already the Cars for Vinieta OXIGEN

bucuresti cameras vignette oxygen

Bucharest from March, a pollution tax will be imposed, for the first time for Romania, for the access of cars to certain areas of a city, and the preparations for "D-day" are in full swing at the moment.

300 surveillance cameras have already been installed by the Capital City Hall, and they are used to identify cars entering and leaving the ZACA area in the next two months, until the OXIGEN vignette comes into effect.

These cameras will have to automatically identify the car to check if it has a pollution norm that can have access to the area, if it has paid the OXIGEN vignette, or if in the end it does not meet the conditions, and a fine must be applied.

The fines will be automatically sent home to the drivers, and with values between 1500 and 2000 LEI, in certain cases they can represent a good part of the value of the respective car, so drivers must be very careful.

Considering that the fines will be issued automatically and sent to the drivers at home, people will not know that they have violated the local legislation until they receive the sanction, and this is because the police will not stop them to fine them on the spot.

I'm pretty sure that there will be many abuses, but also many fined drivers because they don't think that anyone will give them a fine, or because they don't care, but in the end we too enter the civilized world with this OXYGEN vignette.

The OXIGEN vignette entered into force on January 1st, it can be purchased for now only on one website, and from March fines will start for drivers who enter the ZACA area without paying it, or if they have a car for which access is completely prohibited .
