Vodafone today made a very important announcement for all its clients in Romania, hitting at the same time very hard those from Telekom, who recently went through an important scandal. More precisely, if Discovery refuses to conclude an agreement with Telekom so that its TV stations can continue to be provided for customers, Vodafone announced that they will reach all UPC customers, or their own, starting from January 17.

Vodafone brings the Eurosport 4K television channel to Romania for the first time, so that all UPC customers will be able to enjoy it to see the highest quality sports broadcasts in our country. Being a sponsor of the tennis tournaments broadcast in 2020 by Eurosport, Vodafone managed to bring all these channels to its grid, which will certainly leave a bitter taste for Telekom customers who no longer have them from 2020 .

Vodafone: IMPORTANT announcement for Customers, HARD blow for Telekom

Vodafone brings all the Eurosport channels together with the rest of the stations from the Discovery group, and this is news that probably few customers of UPC were hoping to hear from the group at the beginning of 2020. Vodafone bought UPC in 2019, the transaction being approved in two periods of the year by the European authorities, involving acquisitions in multiple countries in Europe, but thus the British group became much stronger on the continent.

"We have 3 pieces of news for you: From January 17, the UPC digital grid will include, for the first time, the Eurosport 4K channel. All channels from the Discovery portfolio will also be included in the Vodafone TV grid. Vodafone is the sponsor of the broadcasts of the 2020 tennis tournaments broadcast by Eurosport."

Vodafone has started for some time to make a transition of UPC customers to its own platform, offering various bonuses and promotions for those who choose to do this as soon as possible. The inclusion of stations from the Discovery group in its own program grid brings Vodafone a serious advantage over Telekom at a time when the German group fails to reach an agreement and is publicly arguing with those from Discovery.

Vodafone is currently one of the largest telecommunications groups in Romania, with over 10 million customers, and their number will definitely increase based on similar news in the future.
