UBER: The announcement that will CHANGE the way you do the Races

UBER has an announcement that will change the way you will make the journeys when you order a car from the ridesharing platform, here is the decision made.

UBER estimate

UBER is the largest ridesharing platform on the planet, with over 1 billion rides registered every year, and a change made now by the American company is going to change a lot the way we do them. Those from UBER entered into a partnership with a company called ClimaCell, the goal being that the final result is a much more accurate estimate of the time at which the ordered car actually arrives at the place where the order was placed.

UBER, like the rest of the ridesharing platforms, have big problems in Romania, especially in Bucharest, with the correct estimation of the time required for a car to reach the destination it is called to. In general, the time required to travel the distance by car is calculated, without taking into account the traffic, so that many times the estimates made by UBER, and not only that, have nothing to do with reality, and the wait for the car is much longer.

UBER to enter into partnership with ClimaCell because the company specializes in predicting the weather using a very varied range of information from around the world, managing to offer very accurate forecasts on a daily basis. UBER wants to use the information from these weather forecasts to more accurately calculate the time required for a car to reach its destination, especially during periods when it rains or snows, when traffic is more difficult.

“Uber is partnering with weather technology company ClimaCell to enable more accurate time of arrival (ETA) predictions for drivers and riders. As for how this fits with Uber and ride-hailing, the correlation between weather and traffic flow is generally well understood – research has shown that rain can reduce traffic speeds by up to 12%, for example.”

UBER anyway, it constantly collects information from its cars in traffic, but it seems that this is not enough to estimate as correctly as possible the times needed to reach a destination. In this idea, those from UBER collaborate with companies such as ClimaCell in order to be able to offer both drivers and customers much more accurate information regarding the times required to travel to the location from which the race is to start.

UBER will implement in 2020 the collaboration with ClimaCell in its application in various areas around the globe, but it remains to be seen how long it will take until we can really feel its effects.
