Coronavirus Romania: LIVE new measures announced by the authorities

The coronavirus has infected another 49 people in Romania, today the total number of infections recorded in the country reaches 217 cases, but there is also very good news, and this is because 19 of the infected people have recovered, and only 4 are intensive therapy.

Despite this, the authorities in Romania are announcing at this very moment new measures they are taking to reduce as much as possible the spread of the Coronavirus in our country, the increased powers of the Romanian Government giving it more options during this period.

The following measures are taken:

1. The activity of serving and consuming food and drinks, organized by restaurants, hotel restaurants, cafes, or other public premises, is suspended. Home deliveries or pick-up sales for home consumption can be made;
2. All cultural, scientific, artistic, religious, sports, gambling, spa treatment activities carried out in closed spaces are suspended;
3. Fitness rooms, beauty salons are closed;
4. It is forbidden to organize and hold any event involving the participation of more than 100 people in open spaces;
5. All drivers of goods transport vehicles with a maximum capacity of over 3.5 tons must have and wear means of protection, i.e. disinfectant, gloves, mask. If they come from red or yellow areas, they do not enter quarantine if they do not have symptoms of Coronavirus at customs;
6. All air flights to Spain and vice versa for the whole of Romania are suspended for 14 days, starting on March 18 at 18:00;
7. The measure of suspension of flights from Italy, and vice versa, is extended for another 14 days starting from March 23;
8. During the state of emergency, the Romanian Police will operationally lead through the county inspectors all the Local Police within their area of ​​competence;
9. The presence of the Romanian Police, the Gendarmerie, the Border Police (at customs) was strengthened in the street;
10. Checks are made to discover the economic operators, or the people who carry out acts of illegal sale of protection products;
11. Internal medicine residents will be assigned to DSPs.
