Google: LIMITS Imposed on the Installation of Android Applications

Google introduces no limits for installing Android applications in some phones that are part of a special program of the American company.

Google limits android

Google imposes new measures to better protect users of phones with the Android operating system, thus limiting the possibility of installing applications from third-party sources by them. More precisely, those from Google announced that they are changing the conditions of the Advanced Protection Program, so that Android users can no longer install applications from third-party stores, Google Play Protect becoming mandatory for all those who are part of it.

Google limits the possibility of installing applications from outside the Google Play Store because these are the ones that cause the biggest problems for users with Android phones. They are not checked by anyone to avoid being infected with malware, as is the case with those from the Google Play Store, Google still allowing the installation of applications from stores that have applications pre-installed in phones, and the existing third-party ones in the new phone will not be deleted.

Google will automatically activate Play Protect for all those who are part of the Advanced Protection program, this system automatically scanning the Android phone to discover malware, and not only that. Those who are part of this program will no longer be able to disable Play Protect, Google imposing this restriction so that people remain safe, and this is a good idea, especially since the number of those active in the program is still small.

"Those enrolled in the Advanced Protection Program will automatically have Google Play Protect activated. The program will also limit users' ability to install apps from outside the Play Store, where apps are now scanned for malware downloads before approval. Those outside the store may pose a greater risk. Google will now prevent non-Play Store apps from being downloaded on any devices enrolled in the Advanced Protection program, with a few exceptions."

Google imposes these new rules only on those who voluntarily enter the Advanced Protection program, so the rest of the Android phone users will not be affected in any way by the changes, yet. Those from Google launched the Advanced Protection program to secure the phones of celebrities and dignitaries, or other important people from around the world, but now anyone who wants high protection in their Android phone can enter the program.

Google has not yet announced the decision to impose such limits on all users, and it is unlikely to do so soon, or ever, especially since Android was designed from the very beginning to be free.
