The coronavirus has infected a number of Romanians so far, the authorities making the official announcement just a few minutes ago, and we are talking about a new increase compared to yesterday, which of course is expected to happen at every point.

The Romanian authorities have also announced that there have been new cures, but also 3 new deaths, the situation evolving at an alert pace, as the authorities have already announced to us for some time, so no one should be surprised by what what is happening at the moment.

The number of cases of Coronavirus increased by 160 compared to yesterday, a smaller increase than that of March 27, but the number of cured people has already reached 139, while the number of deceased people has reached 29, unfortunately .

7801 people are in institutionalized quarantine, while 131.367 people are in isolation at home, both numbers are increasing because more and more Romanians are returning to the country, and of course they will continue to grow in the next period.

"Until today, March 28, on the territory of Romania, 1.452 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the 1.452 people confirmed positive, 139 were declared cured and discharged (54 in Timișoara, 55 in Bucharest, 16 in Iași, 6 in Craiova, 6 in Constanța and 2 in Cluj).

At the same time, so far 29 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19 and with pre-existing chronic diseases, admitted to hospitals in Craiova, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca and Neamț, have died.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 160 new cases of illness have been registered.

The newly confirmed patients are between 13 and 83 years old.

At the moment, 34 patients are admitted to the ATI, of which 25 are in serious condition. The health status of the other patients is good, stable.

On the territory of Romania, there are 7.801 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 131.367 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Until this date, at the national level, 19.663 tests have been processed, of which 1.277 in private medical units.

In the last 24 hours, 1.122 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 6.039 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

Until now, 209 criminal files have been drawn up by the authorized structures of the MAI, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.

At the same time, the Police and Gendarmerie applied 4.235 contraventional sanctions for non-compliance with isolation/quarantine measures.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance no. 3, the police detected 23.973 people who did not comply with the measure regarding traffic restrictions. Contraventional sanctions were applied to them, in the amount of 31.410.624 lei.

Also, on the occasion of the entry formalities into the country, the Border Police drew up 4 criminal files, under the aspect of committing the crime of falsifying statements, an act provided for and punished by art. 326 Criminal Code.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, up to now, 67 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 52 in Italy, 4 in Spain, 2 in Namibia, 2 in Indonesia, 3 in France and one each in Tunisia, Ireland, Great Britain and Luxembourg. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 11 Romanian citizens abroad, 8 in Italy, 2 in France and 1 in Great Britain, have died.

During this morning, another shipment of approximately 45 tons of medical equipment from South Korea arrived in Romania with a NATO aircraft. The 100.000 protective overalls from this transport, purchased by Romania, through the National Office of Centralized Procurement and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, will be allocated, depending on the needs, to the medical staff of the Ministry of Health and the operative crews of the Ministry of Internal Affairs .

We remind you that, on Thursday, another 100.000 overalls arrived in the country.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance no. 2 and until now, 755 people who did not respect the self-isolation period have been placed in institutionalized quarantine. Also, 24 people in quarantine left the location where they were placed, for which the measure of quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days."
