On April 5, 2020, the authorities in Romania announced a new increase in the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in our country, this being in a fulminant increase, for us, for a few days after the number of processing tests increased a lot.
The authorities in Romania have already quarantined two cities due to the fact that the safety measures recommended, or imposed by military ordinances, were not respected, and it is not excluded that others will go through similar situations if things do not change soon.
From yesterday to today, another 251 new cases of illness were confirmed, while the number of cured people increased to 374, still remaining close to 10% of the total number of those confirmed to be infected.
"Until today, April 5, on the territory of Romania, 3.864 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 374 were declared cured and discharged.

At the same time, so far, 148 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19, admitted to hospitals in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița- Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galati, Caraș-Severin, Mureș and Mehedinți, died.
Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 251 new cases of illness have been registered.
At the moment, 141 patients are admitted to the ATI.
On the territory of Romania, there are 15.980 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 108.810 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.
Up to this date, at the national level, 38.623 tests have been processed.
In the last 24 hours, 766 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 3.300 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
Through the competent structures of the MAI, 310 criminal files have been drawn up, up to now, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.
The police and gendarmes detected, in the last 24 hours, 7.935 people who did not respect the measure regarding the restriction of movement. Contraventional sanctions were applied to them, in the amount of 20.012.571 lei.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, to date, 401 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 129 in Spain , 236 in Italy, 15 in France, 8 in Germany, 4 in Great Britain, 2 in Namibia, 2 in Indonesia and one each in Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Belgium and the USA. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 27 Romanian citizens abroad, 9 in Italy, 7 in France, 4 in Great Britain, 6 in Spain and one in Germany, have died.
