The Romanian Police will be obliged to ensure compliance with some rules that the Department for Emergency Situations announced for the Resurrection service and for Easter, and below you have detailed everything you can, or cannot, do in the following period.

The Romanian Police will be present in large numbers on the streets of Romania in the next period to ensure compliance with all the rules that are imposed by the military ordinances, but must be strictly respected by everyone on Easter as well.

"Can I participate in the Resurrection service at the church?

Nu. This year the Holy Week services (of the Holy Passions) and Holy Easter will be performed only by church ministers, without the participation of the faithful, being transmitted on TV channels and on the Internet.

Can I listen to the service from the street or from my car in front of the church?

Nu. Listening to the service is not a justified reason for moving outside the home based on the self-responsibility statement, and the gathering of several people in the street increases the risk of infection and is a violation of the provisions of Military Ordinances number 2 and 4.

Can I go get blessed bread (Easter) and the Holy Light from the church?

Nu. These will be distributed, upon request, to the homes of the faithful in all parishes by the clerical staff and a maximum of 5 volunteers, as follows:

  • – The blessed bread (Easter) will be distributed on Friday, April 17, 2020 and Saturday, April 18, 2020, between 08.00:00 and 06.00:12.00, and on the first day of Easter, between XNUMX:XNUMX and XNUMX:XNUMX.
    – The Holy Light will be distributed on Saturday, April 18, 2020, starting at 20.00:XNUMX p.m.

Can I go to the cemetery during this period to perform Christian rituals?

Nu. This is allowed only in the case of funeral/wedding/christening services with a small number of people (maximum 8), situations regulated by military ordinances. Traveling to the cemetery for other reasons is not regulated nor can it be considered an emergency.

Can I visit my parents/friends and eat with them on Easter?

It is not allowed travel for visits made without justified reasons (eg: point 2 – the provision of goods that cover the basic needs of people or point 4 – justified reasons, such as assistance to elderly, sick people). We recommend that you limit yourself to taking products for the Easter meal to them, in case they cannot supply themselves, to avoid direct or close contact and to keep in touch by phone/Internet.

Is it allowed to organize (family) parties in the yard of one's own house, on Easter night or on Easter Sunday?

If the party means only the participation of family members, those who normally live there, without inviting other people/relatives, yes, it is allowed. However, the legal provisions regarding keeping the hours of rest must be respected and without disturbing the public peace.

Can I take the children out for a walk?

Da, near the home, in groups of no more than 3 people. The exit of the minor child will always be accompanied by the adult who takes care of him. It is forbidden to go to parks or playgrounds, where there are higher risks of being infected."
