8.746 cases of infection with the new Coronavirus were confirmed until April 19, 2020, the figure continues to grow and approaches 10.000 cases, as expected by the Ministry of Health a few weeks ago for our country, unfortunately.

The number of cures is gratifyingly continuing to increase, reaching 1.892, the medical staff making sustained efforts to cure those who are currently in hospitals, the number of people admitted to intensive therapy also increasing.

Unfortunately Easter did not bring a decrease in the number of fines over 5400 being applied due to the violation of the provisions of the military ordinances, the total amount collected from them reaching almost 12 million LEI only during yesterday.

From here on, it is possible that the number of infections with the new Coronavirus will explode, as the Ministry of Health has been announcing for a long time, so we can expect higher daily numbers, until the moment we reach the peak of the pandemic.

"Until today, April 19, 8.746 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed in Romania. Of the people confirmed positive, 1.892 were declared cured and discharged.

At the same time, so far, 434 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19, admitted to hospitals in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița- Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galăți, Caraș-Severin, Mureș, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeș, Vaslui, Botoșani, Alba, Sălaj, Brașov, Mehedinți, Teleorman and Gorj, have died.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 328 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 256 patients are admitted to the ATI.

On the territory of Romania, there are 17.473 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 47.003 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 93.611 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 420 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.018 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

By the competent structures of the MAI, 442 criminal files have been drawn up, up to now, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.

The police and gendarmes detected, in the last 24 hours, 5.410 people who did not respect the traffic restriction measure. Contraventional sanctions were applied to these persons, amounting to 11.857.219 lei.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 732 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 422 in Italy, 196 in Spain , 26 in France, 13 in Germany, 57 in the UK, 2 in Namibia, 2 in the USA, 3 in Austria, 2 in Belgium, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Sweden . From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 61 Romanian citizens abroad, 14 in Italy, 15 in France, 19 in Great Britain, 7 in Spain, 3 in Germany, one in Belgium, one in Sweden and one in Switzerland, have passed away.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 11 were declared cured: 7 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
