The coronavirus infected 9710 Romanians until April 22, the Romanian authorities confirming that we are getting closer and faster to the figure of 10.000 infections, something we know was going to happen following the numerous warnings from the authorities.

The number of cured people also continues to grow, approaching the number of 2500, but unfortunately today we also exceeded the number of 500 people who were killed in Romania due to the Corona virus pandemic, and the number will continue to increase.

From yesterday to today, 468 new cases of infection were registered, over 100 more than yesterday, because over 1800 more tests were done than yesterday, so it was normal for the number to increase of confirmations, the average remaining between 300-400 cases per day.

The coronavirus keeps Romania in the same state it was in last week, with new cases coming daily by the hundreds, deaths by the dozens, and cures in increasing numbers, so that a relaxation of the measures in April is impossible, as the authorities have said.

On the territory of Romania, there are 12.809 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 40.774 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 106.357 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 432 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.970 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

By the competent structures of the MAI, 457 criminal files have been drawn up, up to now, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.

The police and gendarmes detected, in the last 24 hours, 4.950 people who did not respect the traffic restriction measure. Contraventional sanctions were applied to these persons, amounting to 11.406.813 lei.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 953 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 636 in Italy, 196 in Spain, 26 in France, 14 in Germany, 59 in the UK, 2 in Namibia, 2 in the USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 64 Romanian citizens abroad, 16 in Italy, 15 in France, 19 in Great Britain, 7 in Spain, 3 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden and one in Switzerland, have passed away.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 11 were declared cured: 7 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
