11.616 cases of infection with the new Coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania so far by the authorities, an increase of almost 300 cases compared to yesterday, after approximately 7000 tests were performed.

The number of cures has increased substantially compared to yesterday, with over 260 new cases, reaching 3400, which brings the percentage even closer to the 30% that we have already seen in many other countries around the world , and it remains to be seen what will happen next.

The number of people in intensive care is still high, over 240, with a slight increase compared to yesterday, but the good part is that not all of them require mechanical ventilation, but mainly just much more careful monitoring.

Coronavirus Romania situation April 28

It is very important to remember that the relaxation of the population and the uncontrolled start of travel until May 15 may lead to an increase in the number of infections, which could force the authorities to stop relaxing travel restrictions.

"Starting with the date of April 27, the movement of people who have reached the age of 65, outside the home/household, is allowed, regardless of the time interval, strictly for professional travel, including between the home/household and the place/places of carrying out the professional activity and back, as well as under the conditions of art. 1 para. (1), (2) and (5) of the Military Ordinance no. 8/2020 regarding measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in the case of travel for medical assistance that cannot be postponed or carried out remotely, travel to carry out agricultural activities, as well as the travel of agricultural producers to sell agri-food products.

At the same time, in the time intervals 07.00-11.00 and 19.00-22.00, the movement of people who have reached the age of 65, outside the home/household, is allowed strictly for the provision of goods that cover the basic needs of people and pets/domestic animals, including travel under the conditions of art. 1 para. (3) and (5) of Military Ordinance no. 8/2020 regarding measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, travel for justified reasons, such as caring for/accompanying a minor, assisting other elderly people , sick or disabled, or in the event of the death of a family member, short journeys, near the home/household, related to the individual physical activity of people (excluding any collective physical activities), as well as for the needs of pets/domestic animals.

Also, the economic operators that sell food and strictly necessary products will organize their work schedule to facilitate and ensure, with priority, the access of people over 65 years old in the time intervals 07.00-11.00 and 19.00-22.00.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance no. 2 and until now, 2.221 people who did not respect the self-isolation period have been placed in institutionalized quarantine. Also, 169 people in quarantine left the location where they were placed, for which the measure of quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.
