The COVID-19 pandemic continues in Romania, with a number of 14.107 infected people up to now, the growth continuing without stopping this week as well, a sign that we still have until the moment we reach the peak that the authorities keep talking about.

The number of cured people is also increasing, over 30% of those who have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 have already been declared cured, the percentage has been increasing for several weeks, which is a very good sign.

They have been confirmed since yesterday and until today 270 of new cases of people infected with COVID-19, the figure being in a slight increase compared to yesterday, but even so, the protective measures must still be kept in order for these figures to reach 0.

From yesterday until today they were almost processed 12.000 of tests in all test centers in Romania, and although the number of new cases is small, we must remain aware that we must continue to protect ourselves.

"Until today, May 6, on the territory of Romania, 14.107 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 5.788 were declared cured and discharged.

At the same time, so far, 858 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19, hospitalized in hospitals in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița- Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galati, Caraș-Severin, Mureș, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeș, Vaslui, Botoșani, Alba, Sălaj, Brașov, Mehedinți, Teleorman, Gorj, Prahova, Vâlcea, Călărași, Maramureș and Olt, died .

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 270 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 244 patients are admitted to the ATI.

On the territory of Romania, there are 13.545 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 20.634 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 217.139 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 460 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.517 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

By the competent structures of the MAI, 538 criminal files have been drawn up, up to now, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.

The police and gendarmes detected, in the last 24 hours, 3.592 people who did not comply with the traffic restriction measure. Contraventional sanctions were applied to these persons, in the amount of 6.022.952 lei.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 2.405 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.387 in Italy, 560 in Spain , 29 in France, 292 in Germany, 78 in the UK, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 96 Romanian citizens abroad, 29 in Italy, 19 in France, 30 in Great Britain, 8 in Spain, 5 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, and one in the US, have passed away.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 21 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
