The coronavirus continues to keep Romania blocked, the number of daily infections continuing to be at a high level, despite everyone's expectations to enter a downward trend, this is not happening for now, the danger being still strongly present in the country.

The number of cures is still increasing, which comes as very good news, and this is because it is approaching 50% of the total number of people who have been confirmed to be infected by the virus so far throughout the country.

"Until today, May 11, on the territory of Romania, 15.588 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 7.245 were declared cured and discharged.

The number of confirmed cases, by county, according to the reporting of the National Institute of Public Health:

At the same time, so far, 972 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19, hospitalized in hospitals in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița- Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galati, Caraș-Severin, Mureș, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeș, Vaslui, Botoșani, Alba, Sălaj, Brașov, Mehedinți, Teleorman, Gorj, Prahova, Vâlcea, Călărași, Maramureș and Olt, died .

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 226 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 255 patients are admitted to the ATI.

On the territory of Romania, there are 14.745 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 19.059 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 262.219 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 412 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 815 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

By the competent structures of the MAI, 559 criminal files have been drawn up, up to now, under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code.

The police and gendarmes detected, in the last 24 hours, 369 people who did not comply with the traffic restriction measure. Contraventional sanctions were applied to these persons, amounting to 355.550 lei.

We make it clear that until the publication in the Official Monitor of the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the declaration of unconstitutionality of some provisions of GEO no. 34 of March 26, 2020 for the amendment and completion of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 1/1999 regarding the regime of the state of siege and the regime of the state of emergency, the legal norm in force applies.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 2.758 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.698 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 29 in France, 329 in Germany, 81 in Great Britain, 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 3 in USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 100 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 31 in Great Britain, 8 in Spain, 5 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil, have passed away.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 21 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
