Coronavirus Romania Cases Cured May 23

The authorities in Romania announced today a new increase in the number of cases of infection with the new Coronavirus, and this is perfectly normal because the virus still remains a real danger for our country in the coming weeks, at least.

The number of people declared to be cured is also increasing again in Romania, reaching a percentage of 61%, this increasing much harder than in the past, which was otherwise expected, considering the whole situation.

🔴Until today, May 23, on the territory of Romania, 17.857 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 11.187 were declared cured and discharged.

🔴At the same time, so far, 1170 people diagnosed with infection with COVID-19, admitted to hospitals in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița - Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galati, Caraș-Severin, Mureș, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeș, Vaslui, Botoșani, Alba, Sălaj, Brașov, Mehedinți, Teleorman, Gorj, Prahova, Vâlcea, Calarasi, Maramureș, Olt and Ilfov , they died.

🔴Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 145 new cases of illness have been registered.

🔴 At the moment, 196 patients are admitted to ATI.

🔴On the territory of Romania, there are 8.239 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 54.974 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

🔴Until this date, at the national level, 361.566 tests have been processed.

🔴In the last 24 hours, 537 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.178 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

🔴As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 251 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 168.710 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 3 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
At the same time, on May 21, 54 people who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or institutionalized quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

🔴Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, according to the information obtained by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 3.067 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.699 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 84 in France, 576 in Germany, 87 in Great Britain, 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 3 in USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. From the beginning of the epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus) until this moment, 106 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 35 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 6 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil, have passed away.
Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 22 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 9 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, it is a telephone line dedicated strictly to informing citizens. Also, Romanians abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them, +4021.320.20.20.

🔴Other decisions, as well as other data of interest, will be made known to the public as soon as possible.

As of 22 May 2020, 1.335.410 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases were recorded in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
