Coronavirus: The Smart Ring That Could Detect Symptoms in Advance

Coronavirus Smart Ring Detects Advanced Symptoms

Coronavirus it still remains a very big problem for humanity, and the researchers of the Rockefeller Institute for Neuroscience at West Virginia University say that an intelligent mind can detect in advance some of the symptoms of infection with the new virus.

Oura is the name of the company that makes these smart rings, and with the help of artificial intelligence, researchers say that the people who wear them can have the symptoms of infection with the new Coronavirus detected in advance, something that would be an amazing achievement.

Researchers say that symptoms of infection with the new Coronavirus can be detected 3 days in advance, and with 90% accuracy, by the Oura smart rings and the artificial intelligence behind them, the software being practically the key to early detection.

Oura smart rings monitor body temperature, variations in heart rate, how alert breathing is, plus people's sleep hours, and based on models introduced in the artificial intelligence system, infection with the new Coronavirus can be detected early.

"The RNI platform uses the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute app, the Oura ring, and guided artificial intelligence (AI) models to forecast and predict the onset of symptoms associated with COVID-19 (eg, fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and others) three days in beforehand with an accuracy of over 90 percent. This technology can serve as a critical decision-making tool to help contain the spread of the virus, safely reopen communities, strengthen the economy, and facilitate public health containment strategies.”

The coronavirus has created chaos all over the world, and an artificial intelligence platform and an intelligent intel that can detect symptoms early is something great, but for now everything is purely theoretical, and tested on 600 medical professionals in the US to see its viability in widespread use.
