The situation of cases of Coronavirus in Romania is deteriorating day by day, yesterday the highest number of cases was registered in the last almost 40 days, which represents a very serious problem for our country, unfortunately for us.

The number of people cured of infection with the new Coronavirus is, on the other hand, increasing, which still comes as good news in the conditions in which the number of infections is increasing, but we must continue to be very vigilant, because the danger is far away to have passed.

"Until today, June 18, on the territory of Romania, 23.080 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 16.308 were declared cured and discharged.

To date, 1.473 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

In the interval 17.06.2020 (10:00) - 18.06.2020 (10:00) 22 deaths (12 men and 10 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Harghita, Ialomița, Iasi, Mureș, Olt, Suceava, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 1 death in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 8 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 5 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 2 deaths in people over 80 years old.

All deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 320 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 178 patients are admitted to the ATI.

On the territory of Romania, there are 1.429 in institutionalized quarantine   people. Another 86.167 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 597.696 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 486 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 2.160 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 141 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 191.750 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 2 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

At the same time, on June 17 of this year, 120 people who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or institutionalized quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 3.531  of Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 107 in France, 817 in Germany, 97 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 6 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland  and one each  in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 115 Romanian citizens in  abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 29 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
