The coronavirus remains a problem for Romania because the number of infections reported daily remains at a high level, which no one wants, but unfortunately this is the reality we live in, and we must continue to protect ourselves very carefully.

The number of people declared cured still remains below that of people who are infected, and the number of those admitted to ATI is still high, so the protective measures must be followed very strictly in the future.

"Until today, July 2, on the territory of Romania, 27.746 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 20.433 were discharged, of which 19.363 cured patients and 1.070 asymptomatic patients, discharged 10 days after detection.

To date, 1.687 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

Between 01.07.2020 (10:00) and 02.07.2020 (10:00) 20 deaths (11 men and 9 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Mehedinți, Prahova, Suceava and Vaslui.

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 1 death in the age category 50-59 years, 8 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 5 deaths in people over 80 years old.

All deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 450 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 237 patients are admitted to the ATI.

On the territory of Romania, there are 787 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 59.414 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring.

Up to this date, at the national level, 735.221 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 484 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.276 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 345 contraventional sanctions, worth 135.850 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 3 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

At the same time, on July 1 this year, 66 people who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or the measure of institutionalized quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 4.795 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 107 in France, 2.075 in Germany, 97 in Great Britain , 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 6 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 115 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 72 were declared cured: 50 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
