After the day with the record number of infections for the new Coronavirus in Romania, today we have a new record, of 614 new cases of infection, but this is the trend we are facing at the moment, and it can only be changed by all of us, not separately.

The percentage of cured people, out of the total number of those infected, has decreased in recent weeks, and the number of those admitted to intensive care units has increased, as has the number of deaths, as the Coronavirus pandemic is still extremely strong in Romania.

"Until today, July 9, on the territory of Romania, 30.789 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 22.574 were discharged, of which 20.969 cured patients and 1.605 asymptomatic patients, discharged 10 days after detection.

To date, 1.834 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

In the interval 08.07.2020 (10:00) - 09.07.2020 (10:00) 17 deaths (13 men and 4 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Bihor, Bistrita- Năsăud, Brașov, Cluj, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Bucharest, Tulcea and Vrancea.

Of these, 1 death was fully registered in the age category 30-39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 4 deaths in people over 80 years old.

16 of the deaths are of patients who had comorbidities. No comorbidities were reported for 1 death.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 614 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 240 patients are admitted to the ATI.

Up to this date, at the national level, 809.663 tests have been processed.

In the last 24 hours, 395 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 1.176 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.025 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 174.950 lei."
