Apple: Huge victory, colossal "fine" canceled by the CJEU

Apple Victorie colossal fine canceled CJEU

Apple managed to obtain an extremely important victory at the Court of Justice of the European Union, the company escaping the payment of 13 billion euros that the European Commission forced it to pay following a tax agreement with Ireland.

Apple pays lower taxes in Ireland than other companies thanks to a tax agreement it has with the European state, and the European Commission established more than 4 years ago that this agreement would be illegal, forcing Apple to pay 13 billion euros as outstanding taxes.

Apple succeeded at the CJEU in obtaining an annulment of that decision, so that it will receive back those 13 billion euros, which were deposited in a special account, administered by the Irish state to generate profit while they were there, better for 2 years.
