The Corona virus pandemic in Romania is breaking records every day, the figures regarding the number of confirmed cases continue to grow without stopping, which shows us that the situation is getting worse and worse, two localities having already imposed quarantine.

It is normal for things to be like this since there will be more and more tests for the Coronavirus, especially for those who want to go on vacation, and among them many new cases are discovered, which, however, under other conditions probably would not would have been discovered.

With 1.112 new cases announced in Romania, we are talking about a new absolute record, which is added to yesterday's and to those of the previous days, and it is expected that others will come in the next period due to the very large number of cases.

The Minister of Health announced that in the next two weeks we can expect an even greater increase in the number of cases at the moment, and all because of what happened in the last two weeks in our country.

"Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.112 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 2.126 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

Between 22.07.2020 (10:00) - 23.07.2020 (10:00) 25 deaths (16 men and 9 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Bacău, Călărași, were recorded , Dâmbovița, Galati, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Sibiu, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 in the age category 50-59 years, 8 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 5 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 6 deaths in people over 80 years old.

All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

In specialized health facilities, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 5.586. Of these, 285 patients are admitted to ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 1.030.692 tests have been processed. Of these, 20.085 were performed in the last 24 hours, 11.978 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 8.107 on request. Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 1.334 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until July 23 have been reported.

On the territory of Romania, 250 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in home isolation, and 816 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 1.334 people are in home quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 853 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.383 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 735 contraventional sanctions, worth 100.450 lei.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 5.262 Romanian citizens have been confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 117 in France, 2.349 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain , 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 15 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Sweden. From the beginning of the epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus) until this moment, 122 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil, have passed away.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 158 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 11 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
