The coronavirus infects more and more Romanians every day, yesterday a new large number of cases were announced compared to the previous days, and we continue to have well over 1000 new daily infections, which will bring us problems very big.
Unfortunately, these very high numbers of infection with the new Coronavirus also bring an increase in cases admitted to intensive care, reaching a new record in terms of the number of people who need specialized help at the moment.
The coronavirus remains a very big problem for our country, a problem that does not seem to have any solution at the moment, and unfortunately the hospitals are no longer able to cope with the very large number of patients infected with this dangerous virus.
1345 cases were registered in the last 24 hours, only 10 cases away from the record set last week, and with 45 deaths registered, we are also approaching the record of the previous days, the situation being extremely serious.
"Until today, August 6, on the territory of Romania, 57.895 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
28.992 patients were declared cured and 5.639 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.345 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 2.566 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 05.08.2020 (10:00) and 06.08.2020 (10:00) 45 deaths (28 men and 17 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, were recorded .
Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 2 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 19 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 10 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 12 deaths in the over 80 category.
44 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities.
In specialized health facilities, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.961. Of these, 458 patients are admitted to ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.319.369 tests have been processed. Of these, 24.147 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.887 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 9.260 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 5.607 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.078 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 19.362 people are in home quarantine, and 178 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 990 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 729 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 966 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 202.555 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 3 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures to verify the reported aspects."
