The authorities in Romania continue to announce many cases of infection with the new Coronavirus in our country, this week a new record was set the other day, while yesterday we were very close to surpassing it, unfortunately.
The coronavirus brings even more deaths, records being set this week also from this point of view, and the situation will constantly worsen because we have more and more cases reported daily, and the authorities have announced that this will happen.
The Ministry of Health hopes that this week we will remain on a plateau situation, and after that the daily number of infections should decrease, but the situation only seems to continue to worsen, and nothing more, which raises a lot of problems.
"Until today, August 9, on the territory of Romania, 61.768 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
30.119 patients were declared cured and 6.371 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.145 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 2700 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
In the interval 08.08.2020 (10:00) - 09.08.2020 (10:00) 41 deaths (30 men and 11 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Arad, Argeș, Bacău were recorded .
Of these, 4 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 11 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 9 deaths in the over 80 category.
36 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for one deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.640. Of these, 458 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.378.727 tests have been processed. Of these, 13.353 were performed in the last 24 hours, 8.561 based on the case definition and the medical protocol, and 4.792 on request. Also, since the last information provided by GCS, the results of 615 tests processed prior to the last 24 hours and transmitted until August 9 have been reported.
On the territory of Romania, 6.636 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.272 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 20.463 people are in home quarantine, and 168 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 761 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.476 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 383.842 lei.
Also, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 5.626 Romanian citizens have been confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.891 in Italy, 570 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.672 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain , 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 111 in Austria, 17 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 18 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Republic of Congo and Qatar. From the beginning of the epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus) until this moment, 123 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US, one in Brazil and one in the Republic of Congo, have died.
Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 189 were declared cured: 159 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
